SKYJACKER
FITTED LEAF SPRINGS
 Fitted
Leaf Springs are designed by Skyjacker for specific
spring applications. If you are installing Skyjacker
lifted springs and you plan to haul extra toys and accessories
on a regular basis, then we highly recommend adding
a fitted leaf. Adding a fitted leaf will turn a regular
lifted spring pack into a heavy duty lifted spring pack.
The
fitted leaf will strengthen the load carrying capacity
of the leaf pack, but is NOT designed to give additional
lift. However, if you have a constant load on your lifted
Skyjacker spings, and you later add this fitted leaf,
it will help lift the spring back to its original position.
These
fitted leafs are unique to Skyjacker. They are specially
designed to work with a specific spring and for a specific
vehicle. The picture below shows a rear Scout II 4"
lifted Skyjacker Softride Spring and a skyjacker fitted
leaf that was designed for this spring. You can see
the arch of the fitted leaf is nearly identical to the
arch of the pack.
The
fitted spring is installed into your spring pack in
order of spring length. As you can see from the photo
below, ths particular fitted leaf would be inserted
in the third spring position. You always want the shortest
leaf on the bottom and the springs to get progressively
longer as you work your way up the pack.
Please
note that fitted leaf springs are built by Skyjacker
as they are ordered. They are NOT a stock item and may
take a couple extra weeks to deliver. If you are towing,
hauling or using heavy accessories such as a winch,
it is well worth the wait.
