8" 1977-1991 GMC 1 ton 4WD Premium Lift Kit by Jack-It

This 8-inch premium lift kit for the GMC 1-ton Pickup 4WD models in the year range 1977 through 1991 is a custom package that Jack-It has put together.  This kit will allow for the use of larger diameter tires and replace worn front and rear leaf springs.  This kit uses only high-quality components from top brands like Skyacker, Zone, Energy Suspension, and more.  Drawing from our extensive experience installing and selling lift kits (since 1994), we add additional components like spring eye bolts, shackle bushings, and extended stainless steel braided brake lines to give the most complete lift kits on the market.

These kits have been specifically designed for the exact year of your GM 1 ton 4WD, with proper U-bolt sizes front and rear, all kits include Skyjacker softride front & rear leaf springs. These lift packages contain 56’’ long rear leaf springs and u-bolt kits. All these options will include a front sway shackle correct kit with new poly swaybar bushings and a sway bar drop bracket kit. Optional Skyjacker M95 shocks are available for maximum ride comfort and control. Jack-it has included new front & rear spring eye and shackle bolts, bushings, and new rear shackles with this package. It makes the installation much easier, and 30 to 50 year-old bolts and bushings are rarely in good shape to reuse.

GM 1 tons have a 4 bolt trunnion style D60 front axle. Jack-it includes a raised steering block to correct the draglink angle. We also include new longer studs, locknuts, as well as a drop pitman arm to complete the steering correction install. Extended Stainless steel brake hoses will make sure that you don’t over-stretch old brake hoses in an off-road situation.

Installation Notes:

These kits are designed to fit the single wheel GM 1 ton 4wd models. All the front components will install on a dual rear wheel vehicle. The rear components may or may not work on the dual rear wheel vehicles. Will need to lengthen both front and rear driveshafts, recommend high angle CV on the front driveshaft. If you have a 1980-1991 model vehicle that has a one piece rear drive shaft and a slip style yoke on the rear output of the transfer case, recommend  install a  transfer case drop kit. If your vehicle is a crew cab model with a two-piece rear driveline, that has a carrier bearing in the rear driveline, you may develop a shutter under take off and would need to shim the carrier bearing down about ½ -3/4 of an inch to correct the shutter.
