This 8-inch lift kit for the GMC 1 Ton 4WD trucks is a custom package that Jack-it has put together. These kits have been specifically designed for the exact year of your GM 1 ton 4WD, with proper U-bolt sizes front and rear, all kits include Skyjacker softride front leaf springs. These lift packages will add a 5.5-inch rear block & a long add a leaf kit, with a u-bolt kit. All these options will, of course, include a front sway shackle correct kit, as well as front sway bar drop brackets. Optional M9500 series monotube shocks are available for maximum ride comfort and control. Jack-it has included new front spring eye, shackle bolts, and bushings with this package. It makes the installation much easier, and 30 to 50-year-old bolts and bushings are rarely in good shape to reuse. GM 1-ton trucks have a 4-bolt trunnion-style D60 front axle. Jack-it includes a raised steering block to correct the draglink angle. We also include new, longer studs, locknuts, and a drop pitman arm to complete the steering correction install. Installation Notes:These kits are designed to fit the single-wheel GM 1-ton 4WD models. All the front components will install on a dual rear wheel vehicle. The rear components may or may not work on the dual rear wheel vehicles. Will need to lengthen both front and rear driveshafts, recommend high-angle CV on the front driveshaft. If you have a 1980-1991 model vehicle with a one-piece rear drive shaft and a slip-style yoke on the rear output of the transfer case, we recommend installing a transfer case drop kit. Suppose your vehicle is a crew cab model with a two-piece rear driveline. In that case, with a carrier bearing in the rear driveline, you may develop a shutter under take off and need to shim the carrier bearing down about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to correct the shutter. |
Important Notes1. If truck needs extra support for front for large bumper, diesel motor ECT. Order SKJ FLC180 fitted front add a leafs
2. This kit includes 14.5'' long rear u-bolts if truck has factory contact overloads may need longer rear u-bolts. Kit adds a 5.5'' rear block, plus an add-a- leaf.

4. 8600 and greater GVWR 1984 thru 1990 3/4 & 1 ton trucks and Suburban's if equipped with a load sensing valve on rear differential. Recommend eliminating the valve (SEE GM TSB 88-T-151).
